Olympic flame will carry by across Yamal

On October 8, the deputy governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Tatyana Buchkova and the director of district department for physical culture and sport Alexander Airikh held press conference during which told to journalists about participation of the region in the Olympic events of Sochi – 2014.

The deputy head of the region marked out that to Yamal honor to receive the national Relay race of Olympic flame of the XXII Olympic winter Games of 2014 first in the history of Russia dropped out. About it it became known during ceremony of presentation of a route of Relay race with participation of the president of Organizing committee of "Sochi-2014" Dmitry Chernyshenko. Relay race of Olympic flame will stay on Yamal one day and will take place in New Urengoy and Salekhard.

«Thanks to Olympic flame we will become attention epicenter for all country. We will try to seize as much as possible the moment to present our autonomous region, its cultural traditions and traditions of inhabitants of Yamal and also to show our hospitality and to give the chance to each inhabitant to feel involved in the forthcoming Games. Now actively there is a preparation for the forthcoming action, and we are sure that it will pass at high level» , - Tatyana Buchkova told.

According to Alexander Airikh, in the district the organizing committee which was headed by the Governor of Yamal Dmitry Kobylkin is already created. The organizing committees are created also in Salekhard and New Urengoy, and they already started to work by already developed plans. Besides, in the region will pass a number of the special educational events devoted stories of Relay race of Olympic flame and the Olympic movement, not only for young people, but also for the senior generation.

Let's note that the route of Relay race will pass through all 83 subjects of the Russian Federation and 95 % of the population, and these are about 130 million Russians, will appear in hour availability from a venue of Relay race of Fire «Sochi 2014». It will last 123 days and becomes not only the most long, but also the most large-scale in the history of the Olympic winter Games. Will bear Olympic flame of 14 thousand fakelonosets and more than 30 thousand volunteers. In total Fire will overcome more than 65 thousand kilometers of a way.
