Development used by Mail of Russia of technologies has predetermined refusal of use of a traditional material for sealing up of items of mail and post capacities - sealing wax. Since 2011 Mail of Russia plans to replace completely out-of-date sealing wax seals with modern protection frames from unapproved access to contents of post capacity and an investment in the item of mail.
All important and valuable items of mail throughout centuries were sealed up by the sealing wax press to guarantee authenticity of a contained envelope. For the first time sealing wax for post needs has started to be used in XVI century, and the sealing wax press began to be applied in Russia from the XVII-th century end. Till now this material took an important place in post technologies: it was used practically in each object of a mail service – since post office and finishing the main sorting centers.
However in connection with development of post logistics and input in a system in Russia networks of the automated sorting centers sealing wax application became inefficient and even dangerous. During processing and sorting of items of mail sealing wax seals crumble also their fragments get to mechanisms of the sorting equipment that leads to serious breakages of technics and, as consequence, to delays in processing and mail delivery.
Besides, application of the given material for closing threatens with risk of reception by workers of industrial traumas (thermal burns) and poisonings with harmful substances which are allocated at work of the specialized equipment. Also use of sealing wax seals predetermines additional expenses of the enterprise for the electric power for maintenance of a necessary temperature mode in , the device of extracts for tap of a smell of the warmed up sealing wax, and also recycling of the used sealing wax seals.
