Emercom of Russia controls a condition of ice crossings

If in other subjects ice crossings only prepare for opening, in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area five crossings are already accepted in operation. The ice road through the river Ob between the cities of Salekhard and Labytnangi – the most extended, with a big transport stream – belongs to crossings of the first category to which the most rigid requirements in respect of safety are imposed.

From the car of mobile point of management the first deputy minister Sergey Shlyakov was reported by the deputy chief of Head department of Emercom of Russia on the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area colonel Dmitry Alexandrov.



Mobile point of management of Control center in crisis situations of Head department of Emercom of Russia across the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area consists of five cars. the Main car – on the basis of the chassis KAMAZ . From it officials report on existing situation in higher bodies, perform management of actions for civil defense and elimination of incidents. In an autonomous mode in mobile point of management people can work about several days.

The colonel Dmitry Alexandrov reported to the management that the ice crossing functioning in the round-the-clock mode, is equipped with check-points, equipped with barriers, traffic lights, video cameras and means of communication.

The ice crossing on the Ob River between the cities of Salekhard and Labytnangi was accepted in operation at the end of November. The crossing has three lanes for automobile and trucks. Length of each strip makes 1800 meters, width – 30 meters, ice thickness – 35 centimeters. Each strip is equipped with road signs and reflecting landmarks.
