In the settlement Green Yar archeologists continue to work

Excavation on the medieval burial ground Green Yar located in the Cisural area, goes at full speed. Participants of expedition headed by the manager of sector of archeology of Scientific center of studying of the Arctic, the candidate of historical sciences Natalia Fedorova study the remains of the bronzoliteyny workshop which has remained in one of structures opened with archeologists.

Prior to excavation Natalia Fedorov met locals and told, research works around Green Jara not only for Yamal and Russia, but also the world are how important. She presented to keepers of an archaeological monument the book published following the results of excavation, carried out in these parts earlier, and also transferred the photos illustrating work of scientists.



Green Yar received popularity thanks to unique finds, among which – the mummified remains of the male soldier and four children. It was succeeded to establish age of burial of the soldier (allegedly August, 1282) and its probable shape.



In Green Jara in this field season scientists from Yekaterinburg, Tomsk and Khanty-Mansiysk work. Among them archeologists, anthropologists and geneticists. It is planned to make two excavations of 80 м² . Interestingly that this year archeologists here will test for the first time a technique of geomagnetic shooting. The equipment – the Center of collective using of the interdisciplinary archaeological researches "Artefact" of Tomsk state university. The director of the center Olga Zaytseva noted that modern technologies give the chance to define without violation of a surface of the earth location of objects in an occupation layer. Also scientists will carry out 3-D scanning of opened burials.

Let's note that in this season researches of an ancient sanctuary of "Ust-Poluy" being within the Yamal capital – Salekhard will proceed; settlements of an era of Mountain Samotnel I eneolita-bronze in the Cisural area; monument of an era of the Middle Ages – the ancient settlement "Yarte-6" on the peninsula of Yamal (here specialists of the Arctic center of the Lappish university and Cambridge will join the Yamal scientists).
