The crew of the Yamal ice breaker finished a rescue operation of polar station "North Pole-40"

The governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area Dmitry Kobylkin on behalf of all yamalets congratulated Yamal ice breaker crew on safe end of a rescue operation of polar station "North Pole-40". In the telegram addressed to the captain of the nuclear Yamal ice breaker Stanislav Rumyantsev it is spoken:

"… For all of us the Yamal ice breaker is a leader of the Russian Arctic navigation. The Northern Sea Route which now actively revives, attention of the state to the Arctic subject – not idle questions for inhabitants of our region. We are sure that Far North can and has to be comfortable therefore we do everything possible for realization in life of strategically important infrastructure projects. That you made and your crew is the not simply highly professionally performed work. It is incentive for new victories and fulfillments! It is an example for education of young generation! "

Let's remind, on June 12 there took place ceremony of official closing of North Pole-40 station - at drifting station lowered national flag. The equipment and freight of expedition it is lifted and fixed onboard the nuclear Yamal ice breaker of Rosatomflot, ecological cleaning of an ice floe on which the station was based is carried out. The personnel and the equipment of station were evacuated in connection with hit of a basic ice floe in a zone of abnormal ice processes. Scientific observations were made up to June 8 – while the atomic-powered vessel "Yamal" didn't approach to station. Duration of work of SP-40 made 250 days, during this time the station drifted in the Arctic Ocean more than 1640 kilometers. Yesterday, on June 13, the Yamal ice breaker went to the archipelago Severnaya Zemlya. On Baranov's cape the ice breaker will land group of 7 researchers who should reactivate research station and to carry out a number of researches. Then "Yamal" will move in the direction of Murmansk, from where, after unloading of the forwarding equipment, again will put out to sea – to give start of transit navigation of 2013.
