On Yamal the second polar station will earn

The Siberian office of the Russian Academy of Sciences plans to organize one more polar station in the north of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area.

In October of last year the commission of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science accepted in operation polar station on the island Samoylovsky in the Lena River (Yakutia) delta.

According to the academician, forwarding works on her is planned to begin in 2013. The station becomes at once international, there are agreements with scientists from Germany and France.

"Well and in general it will be station of global character. Here this important direction, it testifies to a new stage of development of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science. We leave to the Arctic with the armed, most modern science. We plan that there will be the same station in the north of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area" — Aseev told.

According to him, the agreement with the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area and "Gazprom" is already prepared.

As the press service of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science earlier reported, the research station on the island Samoylovsky is under authority of Institute of oil and gas geology and geophysics of A.A.Trofimuka of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science. The doctor of geographical sciences Mikhail Grigoriev is appointed the head of the Arctic center whom it concerns.
