The projects of the Northern Latitudinal Route and the railway line from Bovanenkovo to Sabetta need to be implemented. This opinion was expressed by the Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexey Chekunkov.

According to him, the highways will connect the Arctic territories, make it possible to climb by rail from the south to the Northern Sea Route and relieve bottlenecks on existing branches.

He discussed the implementation of industrial and infrastructure projects in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District with the Governor of Yamal Dmitry Artyukhov in Salekhard.

"It is extremely important to talk today about the future of Yamal as a powerful economic driver of growth for the country. I am glad that we are discussing projects on economic diversification, deep processing, and aspects of the development of the Northern Sea Route, so that the well – being of Yamal extends for many decades to come," Alexey Chekunkov said.
